Lars Rathje
Vice President of Lockton Companies
Lars Rathje is a Vice President with Lockton Insurance Brokers, lives in North County San Diego and covers clients across the globe.
Numbers and details are essential when running a business, which is why his accounting background gives him an edge when working with companies who have complex risk challenges. He advises mid-market and Fortune 1000 clients everyday as a risk management consultant for Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance broker. Before he started evaluating comprehensive and complex insurance programs for his clients, he was doing it for himself when he built a software company right after graduating from University of California – Santa Barbara. Starting his own business from scratch fulfilled his entrepreneurial itch while also teaching him lessons on keeping costs to a minimum and the importance of having a trusted risk consultant.
Once he joined Lockton, he was able to fulfill the trusted advisor role. Together with his team, he can help organizations evaluate comprehensive and complex insurance programs that will mitigate risk and assess how it will affect the bottom line. He works diligently and efficiently, to ensure that all possibilities are explored to meet the organization’s goals.
After all, goals lead to success and the sky is the limit, or so this has been his mantra since childhood.
Flyvemaskine, Danish for airplane, was his first word before his parents moved to California from Denmark when he was child. Today, he is still obsessed with reaching for the sky both figuratively and literally and earned his pilot’s license.
